His grandparents on his mothers side, the Kaufmans, immigrated from Switzerland. His father Ernest, a native of Switzerland, came to America at the age of 25.

After graduating high school, he went to work at the Upper Star Valley Swiss Cheese Association in Osmond, WY where he managed the factory for his father after his Uncle Fred retired. He managed the Star Valley Swiss Cheese Company with his father from 1949 to 1956. He then became General Manager after Ernest retired and stayed until 1972. At that time he went to work for Caribou Four Corners (Maverik Country Stores) and was there until retirement.

He received his graduation diploma from International Correspondence School in Scranton, PA in the field of business administration while managing the cheese factory. He was very proud of earning the Highest Award of
Achievement in the Dale Carnegie course that he took from Jack Brimhall.

On March 29, 1946 he married Ruth Maurice Nield in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had two daughters and two sons, Freida Brog Child, Valerie Lucille Brog Roberts (Randy), Lance Nield Brog, and Shane F. Brog. He was very proud of his seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Frank was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings throughout the years, enjoying especially his two years as Star Valley Stake Mission President. He also enjoyed yard work, fishing, hunting, and photography. He took great joy in working on and restoring his 1961 Mercedes Benz diesel and maintaining his home and property in Afton, WY.
