Max Donald Brown
1937 ~ 2016

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend Max Donald Brown, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Max was born August 18, 1937 to Donald and Edith Brown in Murray, Utah. Max married his #1 gal and sweetheart Kathleen Beck in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 26, 1956. They recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Alpine was home to Max and Kathleen for all of those 60 years.

Active in the LDS church serving as a committed and trusted Clerk in several bishoprics, a faithful member of the Elders Quorum Presidency, a remarkable Home Teacher, talented Weblo’s leader, in the presidency of the Sunday School, loyal Little League baseball and softball coach, but most importantly a loving and dedicated father and family man to his 3 children: Kelly, Gina, and Kathy.

Max was an accomplished pipe fitter and plumber for Geneva Steel and retired after 34 years of service. He then worked for the Alpine School District for 10 years with the same gift and talent. He was a plumber by trade. He was a talented fisherman and could often be seen angling on the waters of Strawberry or Deer Creek reservoir.

He was known to many as the ‘Tic Tack Man’ and the ‘Trickster’ with a ring and chain. There are very few people who knew Max that didn’t have a ring and chain and instruction from the master as to how the magic worked. He will forever be remembered by this amazing illusion.

Max is survived by his dedicated wife, Kathleen, his children: Kelly (Ranae) Brown, Gina (Gary) Chalk, Kathy (Todd) Jensen, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and his beloved sister Bonnie (Tim) Monson. Max was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Dick and Lynn Brown and younger sister Kathy Thompson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Mountainville 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah and from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday morning at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Alpine City Cemetery
