Stanley R. Burch
1926 ~ 2012

Stanley Robert Burch, age 86, slipped peacefully from this mortal world on October 25, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Elk Ridge, Utah. Born on January 3, 1926 to Claudius Hilton and Annie Ferguson Burch in Provo, Utah, Stan was the younger of identical twins. He was twelfth of fourteen children. Raised to care for the land and animals that were part of their livelihood taught him a reverence and love for the outdoors and a passion for hard work. He continued throughout his life as a rancher, horse wrangler, dairy farmer, gardener, heavy equipment operator, and steward of this world’s resources. He taught the value of time well spent by his example.

He married Jean Biggs on October 10, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was his cherished sweetheart and worked by his side in everything they did. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a belief that he shared with his whole posterity in his own quiet way. They raised a posterity that includes 5 children; Lois Jean (Michael A.) Woods, Page, AZ, Nancy (Max Joseph) Ditlevsen Elk Ridge, Utah, Gayle (M. Devro) Sealy (deceased), Kaye (Chris) Chamberlain and Mathew Robert (Krystal Baker) Burch of American Fork, Utah. He has 24 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Barbara Burch Douglas of American Fork.

His honesty and belief in mankind speaks to a bygone era. His quick wit and understated humor will be sorely missed by his family and friends, for he was one of a kind, a good, kind-hearted man.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 at 11:00 am, in the American Fork 19th LDS Ward Chapel, 1305 North 100 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the American Fork 19th Ward Chapel and also Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery
