Farris (Pat) Roberts Fotheringham Toborg Burton
-- April 25, 1918 ~ August 13, 2010 --

Pat passed away to a wonderful reunion with family and friends on August 13, 2010 at the age of 92. Pat was born April 25, 1918 in Kanosh, Utah to Florence Ardell Stevens and John Crane Roberts. She was the third of nine children. She graduated from Millard County High School in 1936. Later she moved to Southern California where her coworkers nick-named her “Pat”. Pat met her husband-to-be on a blind date and married Thomas Charles Toborg, June 28, 1946 at the Naval Base Chapel in Long Beach, California. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple June 17, 1961.

Pat and Tom lived in both Southern and Northern California and then after retirement moved to Utah living in Salt Lake City and 22 years in Spanish Fork. One highlight of her life was serving with Tom on an LDS mission in Atlanta, Georgia in 1986. Afterwards Pat served many years as an ordinance worker and trainer in the Provo Temple. Tom passed away November 18, 1991 after 45 years of marriage. On April 8, 2000 Pat married Paul Burton of Spanish Fork and they were together till Paul’s death in June 2007. For the last 4 years she was living at the Seville Independent Living center in Orem where she met many cherished friends.

Pat was known for her dignity and grace along with hard work ethic. She worked on and off at Safeway grocery stores for 25 years. Pat’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, home decorating and gardening. She kept an immaculate house and garden. Her secret to long life and happiness was laughter. She loved the company of family and friends and was often found laughing over a card game or story. She had a strong faith in God and taught these principles to her sons.

Pat is survived by two sons: Russell Fotheringham (Linda) of Cedar Hills, UT; and Scott Toborg (Rebecca) of Bellevue, WA. 9 Grandchildren: Marci (Dwight) Durrant, Rob (Liza) Fotheringham, Russell (Leah) Fotheringham, Chad (Nicole) Fotheringham, Kyle Fotheringham, Megan (Shane) Hilton, Jessica Freeman (Toborg), Daniel Toborg, Christina Toborg. 23 Great-Grandchildren. Sister Jeanne Lee; Brother Ed Roberts; Sisters-in Law: Clea Roberts, Peggy Cordon (Nolan). Proceeded in death by 3 husbands; Brothers: Homer, Stan, George, Bob; Sister-in-law, Thiele Roberts.

The family expresses special heartfelt gratitude to Donna Holt and Cindy Taylor and other attentive and loving caregivers at Alpine Hospice and Bel Aire Assisted Living Center.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 10:00 am in the Cedar Hills West LDS Stake Center Chapel located at 4560 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah.
