Melva Butler Cosper
1927 ~ 2013

Melva passed away September 24, 2013 after a long illness. She was born June 5, 1927 to John Eddy Butler and Rebecca Nelson in Eagar, Arizona. She married John Cosper in the Mesa Temple on June 5, 1947. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many leadership positions. She served a mission with her husband to the Coventry England Mission in 1988 and 1989. She also served many years with her husband in the Provo Temple and the Timpanogos Temple.

She is preceded in death by her parents: 6 sisters Rachel, Rebecca, Noreen, Lavita, Rozelda, Valora, : 3 brothers Eddy, Ervan, Dallas and 1 grandson; Gerald Bowers.

She is survived by her husband, John, her 5 children and their spouses: Sheril and Jim Bowers, Diane and Dave Tadje, Susan and Fred Yost, Steve and Alice Cosper, Kevin and Teresa Cosper, 27 grandchildren and 86 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Alpine LDS Stake Center Chapel, 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call on Thursday, September 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East in American Fork and from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will be at the Alpine City Cemetery.
