passed away peacefully in the early dawn hours of December
18th, 2013 with a reunion with her predeceased family and
Barbara was born on October 3, 1934 at home in modest Burbank,
California. She was one of six children being second to
the oldest. Growing up, Barbara was instrumental in raising
her 5 younger siblings while her mother was in the hospital
for a very long time. She was able to get a scholarship
to Knapp College of Nursing in Santa Barbara, California
receiving her RN degree. During her college years she met
her husband, Jack Donal Baker through her ‘Big Sister’
During her adult years she accomplished many things. Along
with her RN degree, she became a licensed scuba diver, a
soloed student pilot, flying the family airplane, enjoyed
outdoor sports like hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.
Barbara was also very religious growing up Methodist, then
later becoming a member of the LDS Church. Barbara served
two local missions with her second husband Elmer A. "Bud"
Ellsworth (Deceased). She also was involved in community
programs like Campfire Girls and Boy Scouts. Mom loved doing
any kind of charitable service to anyone in need at any
Barbara is survived by 3 children born to her and Jack
Donal Baker, Terry Anne Baker (Jim) Huffstatler, Karl Vernon
(Cindy) Baker, Keith Alan (Sheridan) Baker, 9 grandchildren,
13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild. She
is also survived by 7 step-children, Kenneth L. Ellsworth,
Daniel L. Ellsworth (deceased), Tami L. Ellsworth Jasper,
Mark L. Ellsworth, Timothy L. Ellsworth, Andrew L. Ellsworth,
Michelle L. Ellsworth, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21,
2013 at 10:00 am at the American Fork 30th LDS Ward Chapel,
261 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends
are invited to a viewing Friday, December 20, 2013 from
6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North
900 East, American Fork, Utah, and from 8:30 to 9:30 am
Saturday at the church prior to services. Interment will
follow at the Provo City Cemetery.
Was born July 24, 1931 in Richmond Indiana at the home
of James Thurman Reed and Mae Euphemia Holmquist. Catherine had three
younger brothers; Robert Joseph, James Thomas, and Richard Allen Reed.
