Erwin Holt Farnsworth
1922 ~ 2016

Erwin Holt Farnsworth returned home to his Heavenly Father on December 31, 2016 in Lindon, Utah at the age of 94.

He was born September 13, 1922 in St. George, Utah to Bartlett Canfield Farnsworth and Lillie Parthenia Holt. He was raised in Enterprise, Utah and graduated from Enterprise High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He worked for the FAA as an air traffic controller for 33 years then spent 8 years working for Snelgrove Ice Cream Company in Salt Lake City.

He married Genevieve Staheli August 7, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of 8 children, 46 grandchildren, and 113 great grandchildren with 3 on the way. He left a great legacy of love, faith, hard work and perseverance. He served his country honorably, loved his wife and family unconditionally, and made family his first priority. He took great joy in his family and loved to spend time with them. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Savior and the truthfulness of the gospel – serving in many positions in the church. He and his wife served as stake missionaries and later served two missions together in NY and Washington DC South as well as a church service mission at the Presiding Bishopric Office. They served as temple workers in the Jordan River, Salt Lake and Mt. Timpanogos Temples. He loved singing and was a member of the Millard County Oratorio, Jay Welsh Chorale and the Olympus Men’s Choir.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Genevieve, and their 8 children –Wynn (Sandy) – Provo, Utah, Colleen (Steven) Rowley – Richfield, Utah, Curtis (Susan) – Las Vegas, Nevada, Brent (Marsha) – Beaver, Utah, Sharon (Bob) Goodwin – Pleasant Grove, Utah, Bart (Leslie) – Pleasant Grove, Utah, JuVene (Doug) Brown – West Jordan, Utah, Karl (Cristina) – Port Orchard, Washington, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one grandchild and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Timpanogos LDS Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Family and friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the church and again on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 pm at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
