Her Motto ~ I can make a difference!! Her family’s conviction ~ She did make a difference!!

Bessie Ann was born to Ralph Vernon Chryst and Ann (Bess) Williams Chryst on September 27, 1932 in Salt Lake City. She passed through the veil to her living and waiting family members on October 13, 2012.

Bessie Ann graduated from Granite High School in 1950 and was married to Jay Marvin Forbush in the Salt Lake Temple on August 25, 1951. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education on June 5, 1971 and with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education on September 7, 1982.

She taught grades K-3 in the Jordan School District for 24 years and served on the Jordan School Board for 8 years, during which time, she was the Jordan School District’s representative on the Utah State School Board. She also received an award for distinguished service from the National School Boards Association and the Teacher of the Month from the Kiwanis Club of Midvale.

Bessie Ann was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings: Ward and Relief Society Chorister, Relief Society Instructor, Sunday School Teacher, Stake Librarian and Den Mother. She also received many awards for her activity in the Church.

Bessie Ann was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rochelle, brother Bob Chryst and sister Adelle Sutton. She is survived by her husband Jay, sister Joyce Blacklund, son Daniel (Renae), son Curtis (Debbie), daughter Annette (Craig) Bedford and son Kelly (Jody). She loved her family profoundly and has always encouraged them to be the best that they can be. She is very proud of their accomplishments which are a culmination of her encouragement and belief in them.

Bessie Ann had many life changing spiritual experiences both in youth and in her elder years. Suffice it to say that she knows and loves Jesus Christ and He knows her. She continues in her devotion to Him.

The Forbush Family would like to thank Summit Hospice and Right at Home In Home Care for everything they did to help our Mother through this very difficult time. The care and friendship was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.
