“Clo” Johnson Greatwood, 89, passed away at
Stonehenge of Ogden in Washington Terrace, Utah on March
19, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Lynndyl,
Utah on November 12, 1926 to Lile and Mary Johnson and was
the oldest of their four children.
Clo attended school in Lynndyl and later graduated from
LDS Business College. She moved to Southern California where
she worked and met her future husband Roy Benjamin Greatwood.
They married in the Manti LDS temple on September 20, 1954
(later divorced). They had four children. They lived in
many places due to Roy’s employment but lived mostly
in Southern California. Clo was a very devoted wife, mother
and homemaker often times working to supplement the family
income. She was very talented with cooking, sewing, gardening
and all aspects of homemaking. She always put her family’s
interests before her own. Their vacations were mostly going
to Utah to visit Clo’s family. Clo was a devout member
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving
in many callings and was faithful to her beliefs to the
very end. Clo was loved and adored by her children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Clo is survived by her children Charles Greatwood (Nanette)
in South Willard, Utah; Sharon Callen in Portland, Oregon;
Jennifer Madsen (Robert)in Payson, Utah and David Greatwood
in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is also survived by grandchildren
Russell Greatwood, Emily Rittman, Rachel Greatwood, Lewis
Hutchinson, Celeste Hutchinson, Benjamin Greatwood, Lindsey
Callen, Sam Callen and Charlie Callen. She is also survived
by great-grandchildren Lily Rittman, Deacon Rittman and
just born last week Clara Clo Rittman.
Clo’s family is honoring her with a graveside service
at the Lynndyl Cemetery on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11:00
am. A viewing will be held from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. Lunch
will be held afterwards at the Lynndyl Park. All family
and friends are invited.
Age 95, died peacefully in American Fork, Utah, on October
15, 2017. She was a dedicated wife, mother, educator, musician, and

of James Thurman Reed and Mae Euphemia Holmquist. Catherine had three
younger brothers; Robert Joseph, James Thomas, and Richard Allen Reed.
