Ronald Edward Guymon, 65, passed away suddenly on Monday,
March 14, 2016, at his home in Highland, Utah.
Ron was born to Richard Gilbert and Edna Jenalyn Guymon
on December 9, 1950, in Hollywood, California. He spent
his childhood at his mother’s knee, learning to love
God and his fellowman. He was an active member in The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life.
He served an LDS mission in Peru. Ron married the girl of
his dreams, Kim Mayhew, on August 1, 1974, in the Los Angeles
Ron was a gifted teacher, and his influence was felt throughout
the world. He traveled extensively as an educator, trainer,
and consultant. In this capacity, he blessed thousands of
lives with his testimony of The Lord, humility, and genuine
Ron’s greatest love was for his God, his wife, and
his children. He leaves a rich legacy of faith in Jesus
Christ, hard work, obedience, service, integrity, and joy.
His defining characteristic is loyalty. He was loyal to
his friends, his family, his wife, his covenants, and his
God until the end of his life.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kim Guymon,
and their eleven children, Cherie (Jeff) Campbell, Ronald
Nathan (Rachelle) Guymon, Natalie (Mickey) Nelson, Nicole
(Austin) Babcock, Richard Allen (Mindy) Guymon, John Tanner
(Rebekah) Guymon, Ashley (Tyler) Standifird, Kimmie (Andrew)
Haymond, James Michael Guymon, Elder Mark Edward Guymon
(serving an LDS mission in Tempe, AZ), and Emily Guymon.
He is the adored grandfather of 37 grandchildren, with four
more to join the family this year. Also survived by his
brother, Richard Leslie Guymon, and sisters, Carolyn Walker
and Jenalyn Morden. Preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law,
and two granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016
at 11:00 am at the LDS Highland East Stake Center, 4679
west 11000 north, Highland, Utah. A viewing will be held
prior to the funeral at the same location from 9:30 to 10:30
am. Interment will be held at the Highland Cemetery.
