L. McArthur Hinrichsen was born August 4, 1919 in El Centro,
California, and passed away February 14, 2015 in Alpine,
Utah, at the River Meadows Senior Living Facility. Her life
was filled with love: for her family, her friends and the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was the perfect day (Valentine’s
Day) for her to reunite with her husband, Clifford Thomas
Hinrichsen whom she married June 11, 1943 in the Salt Lake
Temple, her parents, Lloyd Mortimore McArthur and Magdalena
Laub, her two brothers, Lloyd William and Daryl Lowell McArthur
and 2 great grandsons, Richard and Anson Call.
In her 95 years: She lived in many cities in California,
including La Mirada and Brea; in Las Vegas, Nevada; in Cedar
City, Provo and Alpine, Utah; in Twin Falls, Idaho, and
With unwavering faith she served in various callings in
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints: Ward Relief
Society President and MIA President, counselor, teacher,
and homemaking leader, primary teacher, Stake MIA President,
Stake Relief Society Presidency etc!
She shared her talents in ceramics, art, millinery, interior
design, floral arranging, crafts, gardening, cooking, homemaking
She enjoyed the companionship of many lifelong and eternal
She received the love, honor and respect, as matriarch,
from her 3 children and their spouses: Daryl Alvin (Sheilah)
Hinrichsen, JoAnn (Larry) Hinrichsen Tolman both of Alpine
Utah; Heinee Mark (Dina) Hinrichsen of Sandy, Utah; her
19 grandchildren (and 15 spouses); and 35 + great grandchildren.
Thanks to her example and through our faithfulness, we look
forward to a grand reunion in heaven.
Her love of life, infectious smile, sense of adventure
and Can-Do attitude blessed all of our lives for good.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015,
at 10:00 am at the Alpine 8th LDS Ward Chapel, 890 North
Heritage Hills Drive, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may
call on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 am prior to services
at the church. Interment will take place in the Alpine City
