Barbara June Holden
1934 ~ 2012

Barbara June Holden passed away July 3, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born June 16, 1934 in Wawanesa, Manitoba, Canada to Harold and Iva Stevenson. She grew up in Wawanesa, which is where she met and married her sweetheart, John Edward Holden. Four wonderful children arose from this union – Shane (Doreen), Mark (Jane), Erica (Judd) Pinegar, and Brenley (Eric) Salmon. June considered her family to be her greatest achievement, and loved to be surrounded by her children, her 11 grandchildren and her 7 (so far) great-grandchildren. She is overjoyed to now be surrounded by family members that she has long been departed from. Those of us who remain here will anxiously count the days until we are reunited with June.

June is passionate about music. She is an accomplished pianist with an associate’s degree in music, and spent many years imparting her gifts and teaching others to develop their musical skills.

June was an active and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served many people throughout her life. She was dedicated to family history and spent countless hours on research and temple work.

As a licensed practical nurse, June served those with psychiatric needs. She always thought of the needs of others before herself, and was desirous and willing to give all that she had to serve and bless the lives of those around her.

June will be forever remembered for her optimistic attitude, her kindness and love.

June was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson.

She is survived by her children, grandchildren, sister, Marilyn (Ken) Adam, brothers Dale (Aida) Stevenson, and Fred (Ann) Stevenson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Cedar Hills 1st LDS Ward Chapel located at 4245 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday afternoon from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the American Fork City Cemetery.
