R. Hulme, our beloved husband, son, brother, devoted dad
and grandpa passed away in his home, surrounded by his family,
Oct. 17 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 6th 1948 in Albany, California to David
K. and Barbara F. Hulme. Harvey grew up in Richmond Annex
and Kensington, California. He was active in student activities,
music and sports during his High School years. In his favorite
sport, Basketball, he was the foul-out king fondly known
as the "Hatchet-man". He graduated from El Cerrito
High School in 1967. He was honored to earn his Eagle Scout
Award at 16 years of age.
Harvey served in the Chilean Mission for The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and returned to continue
his studies at BYU. While there he met and married Marilyn
Mattson in the Oakland California Temple. After graduating
in accounting he joined the David K. Hulme Accountancy Corporation
and worked toward being a CPA which he accomplished soon
afterwards. When David retired from the firm it became Hulme
and Hawkes Accountancy Corporation. Harvey was well respected
by his clients and really enjoyed being a friend and advisor
to them. With the business established in Walnut Creek,
Harvey and Marilyn raised their family in nearby Clayton
and Brentwood. In 2006 Harvey sold his share in the firm
and moved to the Highland, Utah area. In Utah, Harvey continued
his career with real estate development and continued work
as a CPA joining the firm Murri, Hulme and Barton in 2010.
Two years later he left to work as the CFO of Rock Canon
Oil, enjoying working there with two of his son-in-laws.
Harvey was active in the LDS church and an example to his
family in the service he gave. Among other callings he served
as a Bishop, Scoutmaster and High Councilman. He especially
enjoyed being able to serve as Elders Quorum President in
the Spanish Branch.
He had a zest for life and loved to be active. A few of
his favorite pastimes where golfing, boating, travel and
spending time with family. He loved to tease his grandkids
who all love him dearly.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marilyn; six
children, Suzanne (Gary) Maxwell, Benjamin (Tiffany) Hulme,
Shauna (Craig) Roberts, Angela (David) Bragonje, Jonathan
(Meggan) Hulme and Diana (Ryan) Holt; 23 grandchildren;
mother Barbara Hulme; three siblings, Frank (Gloria) Hulme,
Rob Hulme and Debbie (Brad) Farnsworth. Funeral services
