Allen Charles Humes
1928 ~ 2013

Allen C. Humes peacefully passed away at home on January 3, 2013 in American Fork, Utah. He was born in Fruitland, Utah to Alma Joseph Humes and Elva Young on March 16, 1928 the third child of nine. He was educated in Duchesne, Utah and in his later teens, moved to American Fork and worked at the turkey farms where he met the love of his life, LaDenna Conder. They fell in love and were married on October 30, 1947 in Duchesne, Utah. They later solemnized their marriage on September 25, 1993 in the Manti Temple.

He worked for Geneva Steel for 32 years and moved up the ranks as a Spell Foreman and shortly was promoted to General Foreman in the Rolling Mills Department.

In 1995, Allen and LaDenna were made Stake Missionaries, performing many new member baptisms. Shortly thereafter, dad was made a Stake Missionary leader and they performed many accounts at the temple till health slowed them down. While missionaries, they met a young missionary and brought him into the home and family. He took on the Humes name from them, his name Chris Molina (Humes).

Allen was an avid homebuilder in his spare time and loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, etc. He also loved his home out in Fruitland in the warm months, where you could find them both.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 3 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, a great grandson, and a daughter-in-law Melinda Humes. He is survived by 3 sons and 1 daughter; Allen Joseph Humes, Jeanette (Tom) Kummer, Jay D (Cindy) Humes of American Fork and Chris (Joy) M. Humes of the Philippines. He is also survived by 21 grandkids and 31 great-grandkids as well as 2 sisters; Ella Mae Batchelor, Norma Jean Lott, and 2 brothers; Robert and James Humes and their spouses besides many others that called him grandpa. Dad, we will surely miss you and we know your in a better place now. So, ole Cotton Top, so long till we meet again, we all love you.
