Darlene Virginia DowDell Ibey
1931 ~ 2015

Darlene passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 83, on Friday February 6, 2015 at 8:40 am. She was born in Idaho Falls Idaho to Charles Ray DowDell and Della Virginia Fowler. Darlene married Robert William Ibey on July 5, 1956 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

Her favorite things to do were gardening, sewing, crafts and scrap-booking. She also loved to do acts of service. When two of her children were on missions for the LDS church at the same time, she enjoyed helping the missionaries serving in her area. She loved to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner for them. They loved her homemade pies too. She drove them everywhere and friend-shipped their investigators.

Darlene served in many callings at church, including Primary Teacher, Young Women’s Teacher, Stake Young Women’s Counselor, and Relief Society Homemaking Leader for 12 years. With her husband, they served as Activities Committee Members, Advisors of the Empty Nesters, Ward Newsletter Editors, and most recently as Church Door Greeters.

She is survived by her husband Robert William Ibey, children; Kitty (Larry) Bingham, Michael Ibey, Nick (Celeste) Ibey, Jerry (Ellen) Ibey, JiNell (Marcus) Willardson, Jay (Debbie) Ibey, Joelle (Mark) Asplund. Brothers: Chuck (Maria) DowDell and Delbert (Helen) DowDell. 26 Grandchildren and 42 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Manila 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 850 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah, located by the Mount Timpanogos Temple. Interment will take place in the Highland City Cemetery.
