Daniel David Jones
1978 ~ 2012

Daniel David Jones died suddenly and tragically Friday July 27, 2012 at the age of 33. He lived in Cedar Hills, Utah.

Daniel was born September 28, 1978 to David Lee and Dianne Jones in the city of Monterey, California.

Daniel served a full-time LDS mission in St. Louis, Missouri from 2002-2004. He loved his experience as a missionary and met many wonderful friends there. He reminisced the exhilarating stories of the rough streets of East St. Louis with fondness. He served as an assistant to the President.

Daniel earned degrees in Social Work from BYU-Idaho and University of Utah. He was an excellent student and graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors as well as being involved with meaningful charities at the time. Since his completion of his M.S.W. Daniel worked for Valley Mental Health in Salt Lake City as a mental health therapist. He especially enjoyed his work with inmates at the Utah State Penitentiary. He focused his life on loving and helping other people.

Daniel married Stacey Jensen in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple on September 2, 2006. The couple made their home in Rexburg, Idaho while Daniel finished his B.S. They moved to Utah County in 2009 and purchased their first home in Cedar Hills last year. Daniel has two children, Cloey Dianne (4) and Maya Ann (2) who love him dearly. He was an involved, playful and silly father.

Daniel loved outdoor adventures, hiking, biking, practicing jiu-jitsu, computers and technological gadgets. He was an outgoing and friendly man who loved to make a joke.

Daniel’s last year on earth was one of pain and ill health. We hope and pray he will find solace.

He is preceded in death by his father, David Lee Jones, and Ankah, his beloved German shepherd.

He is survived by his wife, Stacey Jones; daughters: Cloey Dianne Jones and Maya Ann Jones; mother, Dianne Jones; sister, Maria Fulton; nieces: Dominique Butner and Kya Butner; sister Amie Brown; niece Morgan Brown; nephew Jeffrey Brown and many downhearted friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Cedar Hills 5th LDS Ward Chapel located at 4245 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah.
