Bert "Bud" Justus, 85, passed away on Saturday,
April 21, 2012 in Alpine, Utah.
Bud was born on December 30, 1926 to Harley and Lois (Cross)
Justus in Redlands, California. He and his 2 older sisters,
Elaine and Ruthie, were raised in Mission San Jose, California,
where he graduated from Washington High School in 1943 at
He enlisted in the Army in 1945 during World War II and
was with the First Occupational Forces in Japan. He was
always proud to have served his country.
When he returned to Mission San Jose after the war, he
started dating Colleen Jibson. They both loved to roller
skate and dance together and soon fell in love. They were
married on June 26, 1947. Bud and Colleen raised their 6
children, Cindy, Gary, Bill, Scott, Rick and Kathleen in
Hayward, Danville and San Ramon, California.
Bud owned a tool and die business in Hayward, California
for many years and was a highly respected businessman. He
was a loyal friend and was generous to many. He loved to
play golf and travel with Colleen and continued to work
until a debilitating stroke in 2005 forced him to retire.
They moved to Cedar Hills, Utah in October, 2005 to be close
to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bud is survived by his devoted wife, Colleen, children,
Cindy (Tom) Urban of American Fork, Utah; Gary (Laura) Justus
of Tracy, California; Scott Justus of California; Richard
Justus of Coeur d‘Alene, Idaho; Kathleen (Ken) Mull
of Cedar Hills, Utah; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren
and 1 great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death
by his parents; sisters, Elaine Kamp and Ruth Smith and

staff at River Meadows Senior Living for the dedicated care
that they have given Harley for the past four years. We
would also like to thank the Encompass Home Health and Hospice
Graveside services for Bud will be held on Thursday, April
26, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Highland City Cemetery, 6200
West 11000 North, Highland, Utah.
