Colleen (Jibson) Justus passed away on June 17, 2014 in
her Cedar Hills, Utah home surrounded by family.
Colleen was born December 31, 1929 to Bill and Edna (Bonham)
Jibson in Declo, Idaho. She and her younger siblings, Barbara
and John were raised throughout Idaho, Nevada, and California
as her father was in road construction. They finally settled
in Mission San Jose, California where she met Harley Bert
Justus. They loved to roller skate and dance and spend time
at Martin’s beach. They were married on June 21, 1947.
They raised their 6 children; Cindy, Gary, Bill, Scott,
Rick and Kat in Hayward, Danville and San Ramon, California.
Colleen was a homemaker in every sense of the word. She
served generations of family with love, grace and devotion.
She dedicated her life to family history and served the
LDS church through her genealogical work.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara,
son, Bill and husband, Harley.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy (Tom) Urban of American
Fork, Utah, son Gary of Tracy, California, son Scott of
California, son Rick of Spokane, Washington and daughter
Kat (Ken) Mull of Cedar Hills, Utah, 21grandchildren, 33
great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2014, at
10:00 am in the Cedar Hills 7th LDS Ward Chapel located
at 9737 North Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family
and friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at
the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East American
Fork, Utah and also at an additional viewing on Monday morning
from 9:00-9:45 am prior to services at the church.
Colleen will be truly missed. Her patient, courageous,
and loving nature touched the lives of so many.
