Zelma W. Lewis
1922 ~ 2013

Zelma Wright Lewis has returned to her Heavenly Father and beloved husband Eldon on July 26, 2013. She was born in Charleston, Utah, on February 4, 1922, to her proud parents Lorin and Orlinda Wright.

Her younger years were spent enjoying the companionship and love she had for her four brothers and four sisters. She married the love her life, Eldon F. Lewis, on June 27, 1947 and ten years later, on August 21, 1957, they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Over the years she worked as a Mom, waitress, sales clerk, meat wrapper and her last and most favorite position was that of a "Lunch Lady" at four different elementary schools. She was very creative and loved working with her hands. She loved all types’ of crafts, especially, charcoal, water color and oil paintings, which adorned her home, with many being given to relatives and friends.

She and Eldon loved going camping and would spend several weeks a year, in their favorite camping spot, at Wasatch State Park. She loved butterflies and sometimes while camping or in her backyard, she and her grandchildren would catch the butterflies and study them up close. She loved her flowers and was quite proud of her yard.

Eldon surprised her with an electric organ and she practiced and practiced until she became quite proficient and has played it (to the delight of Eldon) and others, almost every day since. She was very active in the LDS Church serving in numerous callings including the Relief Society Presidency and Cub Scouting. She was also a proud member of the Mero Club from its very beginning in 1976. She was a great wife, sister, Mom, grandma, great-grandma, neighbor and friend. She is survived by her daughter Linda Lee (Roger) Riley, Pittsburg Calif., son Bob (Kathy) Lewis, West Jordan, brother Von (Marge) Wright, Orem, sisters, Orlinda (Bob) Mower, St. George, Mary Beth Dalton, Las Vegas Nevada, LaRene (Leland) Loy, San Jose Calif., 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and too many nephews and nieces to count. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, son-in-law, Jimmy, daughter-in-law, Donsa, grandson, Zachery, brothers Larvin, Boyd, Dean and Sister Wanda.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah. Since this will be an outside service, please dress casual and bring an umbrella.
