Ann Wright Lyman, loving wife, Mother, Sister, Nana and
friend passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by
family on Thursday September 1, 2016. She leaves behind
a beautiful life legacy after a determined fight with cancer.
Mary Ann was born June 2, 1954 in Roosevelt, Utah. She
was the youngest of three girls, born to C. Leland and Carol
Wright. She grew up in Duchesne, Utah where she helped her
Father and Grandfather on the family ranch until she graduated
from Duchesne High School and furthered her education at
Utah State University. She met her husband Kent in 1974,
while working at a bank and they were later married in the
Manti Temple on May 23, 1975. They shared 41 wonderful years
Mary Ann loved animals all throughout her life and was
never without a pet, whether it was cats, dogs, or even
a fox. She lived for gardening and usually had a yard that
neighbors envied. She was talented in many areas, but she
truly loved her career working as a legal secretary, and
did this for 28 years.
Mary Ann was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints. She held many different callings including
Primary worker, Relief Society teacher, Cub Scouts, but
her favorite was Young Women’s.
Her parents, C. Leland and Carol Wright, precede MaryAnn
in death. She is survived by her husband Kent Lyman and
their four children, Amanda (Mike) Deuel, Michael Lyman
(Gwen & Cooper Coleman), Dallas (Cami) Lyman, and Ryan
(Janneal) Lyman. Sisters, Carolyn (Bill) Eck , and Linda
(Walt) Schriever. She is adored and will be greatly missed
by 10 beautiful Grandchildren, McKenna, Kaden, Shelby, Hunter,
KayLee, Taylor, Mason, Alexis, Noah, and Karter. The kids
called her Nana and loved to come to her house and play
games in the yard or make s’mores over the fire pit.
Nana was always up for a fun game or a mean hand of Crazy
Rook, which she usually won.
Our hearts are broken that Mary Ann was taken too early
from this life, but we remain in awe of her dignity, courage,
grace and unending love for her family and friends. She
will be fiercely missed!
