Francis Marshall Jr.
August 17, 1924 ~ October 20, 2014
wonderful father, a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, passed
away Monday, October 20, to his great delight and excitement.
He was born in Sacramento, California on August 17, 1924.
He served 3 ½ years in the United States Marine Corps
during WWII. After a few years operating a family dairy
farm, he relocated to Utah in 1961 to begin service in the
Church Education System of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. He taught seminary in Brigham City, Utah
and Orem, Utah before being assigned responsibilities in
Kansas, California, Montana, Hawaii and Australia.
He and his sweetheart, Bernice Johnson, were married almost
70 years (August 14, 1943) before her passing in 2013. After
retirement they served full -time missions in Singapore,
Hartford, Connecticut, Calgary, Canada, Hawaii, Atlanta,
Georgia, and a mission with the Church Historical Department
in Salt Lake City.
He loved people, fishing, tennis, chocolate, and preaching
He is survived by his 5 children, Denise (Rob) Cox, Thomas
(Eileen), James (Phyllis) , Daniel (Roseanne), and Richard
(Chris), a sister Shirley Watts, brother in law William
Johnson (Shirley), and sister in law Barbara Driffill (John).
He is loved by 27 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014,
at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 11162
North Alpine Highway, Highland. Friends and family may call
Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral
Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah and also
at an additional viewing on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30
am prior to services at the church. Interment will take
place in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo.
