Leland Miner, was born in Provo, UT on February 28, 1951
to Verl York Miner and Kathleen Madsen Miner. When he was
5, his family moved to Southern California. He grew up in
California and graduated from High School and went to college
there. He eventually left California when he got a job at
a corrugated box plant in Moses Lake, WA, which was a small
company at the time. He lived in Moses Lake for 32 years
before he moved to Lehi, Utah.
Gary was very active in the Moses Lake community. He sat
on the planning board for Spring Festival for many years.
He also enjoyed boy scouts, dancing, poetry, running (he
was a runner in H.S.), watersports, down hill skiing, biking,
hiking, camping, doing community service and spending time
with people in general. His most favorite thing to do was
Ballroom dancing with his wife, Kathy. They both taught
Ballroom dancing, it was one of their many joys.
He married his Eternal Sweetheart and Soul Mate, Kathy
on May 28, 2004 and they were later sealed in the Boise,
Idaho Temple, May 24, 2008.
Gary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints and held many positions and was so
loved by all he served.
Gary developed a Glioblastomamultiforme 2 ½ years
ago. Because of the cancer he moved with his sweetheart
back to Utah so they could be closer to family. The cancer
took his life (too soon) from his loved ones on his birthday,
February 28, 2013. Gary was preceded in death by his parents
and grandson Braydon.
