Murdock passed away on August 12, 2015 after a brief bout
with pneumonia. Vivian was born on June 7, 1926 in Highland,
Utah. She is the oldest daughter of Jacob Albert and Gertrude
After her family settled in American Fork, Vivian attended
American Fork High and graduated in 1944. In High School
she playing the French Horn and was on the student council.
Vivian married Merrill James Robinson August 23, 1943 at
the start of their Senior year of High School. They had
three children before their marriage ended in divorce. Vivian
then moved her little family to Alpine where she meet and
later married Grant Clark Terry on October 23, 1950. They
became eternal companions in February 1952. Grant was the
love of her life and they loved living and raising their
family in Alpine. Four more children were added to the family.
Grant was taken in a tragic industrial accident in October
1962, leaving Vivian struggling to raise a family of seven.
To help her do so she started school at BYU.
Vivian meet Carl Murdock, who had also lost his eternal
companion. They were married in August 1965 and raised his
5 and her 7 children. They were married 39 years. Vivian
eventually graduated Summa Cum Laud with a BS degree in
Sociology in 1975. She later studied real estate getting
her license and selling for many years.
Vivian was active in the LDS church throughout her life
and has been a great example to her children, grandchildren
and great grandchildren. She served in many callings in
the YW, Primary, and Relief Society. She served a mission
in Oakland, California with Carl Murdock.
Vivian loved to do service and volunteered at Timp Cave,
AF Canyon Camp Host, Valdez Alaska Earthquake Museum, Lake
Powell Trash Tracker, BYU Special Exhibits, at the 2002
Winter Olympics and the Las Vegas temple.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Grant, father
Albert, mother Gertrude, daughter Annette (Terry) Britt,
son-in-law Dennis Britt, and two grandchildren Ben and Steven
She is survived by her sister Evelyn Wimmer (Leland), children
Pat Murdock Ador (George), Merrilee Robinson Wendel (Leonard),
James Robinson (Colleen), Brent Robinson (Coila), Denis
Murdock, Jenny Andersen (Allen), Carla Murdock Marquardt
(Steve), LaVon Terry Wilson (Dan), Gary Murdock (Debbie),
Tina Murdock Hummel (Greg), Nathan Terry, Kenny Murdock
(Yara), Curtis Terry (Jen). She has 47 grandchildren, 119
great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015
at 11:00 am at the Alpine 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 890 North
Heritage Hills Drive, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may
call on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at
the church and again on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30
am prior to services. Interment will take place at the Alpine
Age 95, died peacefully in American Fork, Utah, on October
15, 2017. She was a dedicated wife, mother, educator, musician, and
