Loy Neff
1933 ~ 2017

Our Mom, Loy Neff, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the afternoon of July 8, 2017. Her family was blessed to be present and to have sweet conversation with her before she drifted away from us into the arms of other loved ones.

Loy was born on April 24, 1933 in Sandy, Utah and raised by her loving mother, Mary Meyer, and her dear Grandpa, Frank Model.

She loved her childhood, wandering the canal banks, playing with her dogs and other beloved animal friends, enjoying her beautiful surroundings of home and the Mill.

She loves nature and all of God’s creatures, and instilled a respect and love for these things in her children.

Loy studied art and music while living in Germany where she learned the Master’s style of oil painting, and to play the piano beautifully. Her children cherish her elegant paintings and the lasting memories.

She is extremely creative with a keen eye for detail. The many friends and family she entertained in her homes will never forget her beautifully presented, delicious cuisine and decorating extraordinaire.

She is a captivating storyteller, and possesses qualities that draw people to her. We have been told of lives that were changed by her candor and insightful advice.

Mom, you are loved by many and will be missed, but we are so happy that you have flown beyond the constraints of this earthly existence, and know someday we will all be together again.

Loy is survived by her children, Steven (Tricia) Stanley, Mary (Kiwi) Mendenhall, and David (Jodie) Stanley, her 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Meyer, her grandfather Frank Model, her father Lewis Neff, her birth mother, Myrtle Hardy Neff, her brothers, Louis, George, and Edsel, and her sister Annie.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Interment will be at the Alpine City Cemetery.
