1933 ~ 2012
Olsen 79, passed away peacefully in American Fork, Utah,
Nov. 26, 2012, from the effects of Parkinson’s disease.
Dan was born March 21, 1933, in Axtell, Utah, the son of
Newel and Alphilda Olsen. Dan grew up on the family farm
in Axtell, Utah. He graduated from Gunnison High School
and then attended Utah State University and Brigham Young
University. Dan served our country in the Korean War and
an honorable mission in the Hawaiian Islands for the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Dan moved to Los Angeles for employment where he met Nadine
Edgeworth and married her on August 19, 1961 in the Los
Angeles LDS temple. Dan and Nadine made their home and started
their family in Southern California. Dan’s employment
took him to Napa Valley, California in 1974 where they raised
their family and happily lived for 32 years. Dan was a faithful
member of the LDS Church where he loved to serve others
and had many callings.
Dan loved life and had many hobbies and interests that
brought him happiness. They included tennis, raising canaries,
gardening, grafting trees, ballroom dancing, reading and
watching movies. His greatest joy came from his family.
Dan loved being a grandpa and was a friend to everyone he
Dan and his wife Nadine operated a successful business,
"Napa Valley Rubber Stamp" in Napa for 27 years.
In 2006 they retired to American Fork, Utah to be closer
to their family.
Dan is survived by his loving wife Nadine of 51 years and
his children: David (Holly) Olsen; DaNae (Matthew) Peterson
and Natalie (Darin) Burrell. Dan had eleven beautiful grandchildren;
Ryan, Molly, Michael, Reed, Sadie, Joshua, Andrew, Noah,
Madison, Hannah and Peyton. Dan’s greatest joy came
from his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family
who love him deeply.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean and
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012
at 11:00 am in the American Fork 38th LDS Branch Chapel,
located at 2433 West 450 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah. A
viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 am prior to services.
Interment will be in the Highland City Cemetery.
