Jon Lloyd Roberts

1970 ~ 2015

Jon Lloyd Roberts, 45, passed away early Sunday morning, June 14, 2015 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, UT.

Our Valentine was born on February 14, 1970 in Encino, California, the first of six adopted children of Joseph and Rhodonna (Warner) Roberts.

Jon spent his first carefree years on the family farm on the Oregon Slope. In 1981 his family moved to their newly purchased farm in the Sand Hollow area north of Caldwell, ID, where he tolerated farm labor and managed to wreck every single vehicle he or his parents owned! He delighted in his associations while attending Middleton High School. Following his graduation in 1988 he attended Rick’s College for a short time before his call as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Mission. It was there he met the love of his life, Carol Jeanne Mount. Upon returning from serving his mission, Jon enrolled in classes at Boise State University.

Jon married Carol in April 1992 in the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple. They were married for 23 years. Many would say that Jon was generous to a fault. Jon easily made friends everywhere he went, was the life of the party and was the perpetual entertainer, making people laugh, helping them feel at ease and bringing a smile to their faces. Jon had a great love of music and could recall and sing just about any song you could name. Jon was always the first to offer assistance to anyone in need, and throughout the years of their marriage, Jon and Carol’s home was a shelter for many siblings, friends, and loved ones. Jon was an avid golfer and had an immense love for the game of football. Through the years as Jon’s family grew, his passion for football extended into coaching positions for numerous of his son’s football teams where there he inspired and helped mold countless young men. Jon's loyalty to and regular attendance at AF High School Cavemen football games, as well as his involvement with the Booster Club, made him an integral member of a brotherhood. His premature passing leaves numerous people with aching hearts and freely flowing tears. His love of football was eclipsed only by his love for his children. Jon would tag every picture of his children on social media with #thebestpartofme.

Jon was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jon is survived by his loving wife Carol (Mount) Roberts of American Fork, Utah; his children; Tanner Dayre, Taylor Keilani and Talon Keoni Roberts; his parents, Joe and Rhodonna Roberts of Boise, ID; his brothers and sisters; Kara (Chris) Maze of Middleton, ID, Ryan (Allison) Roberts of Twin Falls, ID, Tim (Amy) Roberts of Boise, ID, Kimberly (Jeff) Olsen of Idaho Falls, ID and Tawna (Denny) Nash of Boise, ID and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

We mourn your loss but will cherish our many happy memories. Until we meet again Jon. Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 20, 2015, at 12:00 noon at the American Fork 37th LDS Ward Chapel, 1100 East 400 North, American Fork, Utah.
