May King Simmons
~ Together Forever ~
dearest Mother, Grandmother, and friend quietly returned
home to her Heavenly Father May 22, 2013 in Layton, Utah.
It was time for her to reunite with her husband who she
missed dearly, along with many other loved ones.
Dona was born December 15, 1925 in Antimony,
Utah to Culbert Levi King Jr. and Louisa May Gardner. She
married George Elvis Simmons December 10, 1949. Their marriage
later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1960, sealing
their family together for all time and eternity.
Dona was a proud active member of the
LDS church serving as the Director of Genealogy/Extractions
and fulfilling many other callings. She also spent countless
hours of service building the Kearns 14th Ward Chapel. She
left behind a small piece of her heart in Kearns, when she
left her dearest friends to move closer to family. Dona
was a very classy lady who always took pride in looking
her best. She was somewhat old fashioned but had a youthful
style and way about her. She had a direct yet keen personality
and was a good judge of character. She enjoyed spending
time with family reminiscing & telling stories. Family
was everything to her – we always came first.
She is survived by Sons: David, Michael
(Lori); Daughter: Laura Stoker and Grand "Daughter"
Genique (Eric Hancock); 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband; George, Son; Jeffery, and
Grandson; Justin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
May28, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Kearns 14th LDS Ward Chapel,

call Tuesday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to services
at the church. Interment at Valley View Memorial 4335 West

The family would like to thank all those
at Legacy Village for the help and special care she received.
