Lindsey Jeanne Swenson
1991 ~ 2016

We are sad to announce the passing of our beautiful daughter Lindsey Swenson. She finally succumbed to a long and hard-fought battle with severe depression on September 9, 2016. She is back in God’s loving embrace and laughing with her dear grandfather Walt.

Lindsey was the most loving and caring person you could know. Until her final days she always made special efforts to help others – all the while silently hurting inside. She would often stay up all night helping others on the Suicide Help Line.

Her struggle to overcome psychological demons consumed most of her energy for the last six years of her life. This was a battle that most of us will never comprehend, but it was real and ever-present.

Lindsey loved animals; having owned and cared for many. She had a horse, dog, guinea pigs, fish, etc. Camping in a tent and boating were especially enjoyable for her. One of her most exciting trips included finding a newly born fawn during a hike.

Lindsey’s talents often surprised us. She played guitar and occasionally shared her beautiful voice, especially when it could be with her brother in a duet. She had a wonderful ability for drawing in pastel that she exhibited when young. Later, her graphic designs blossomed into wonderful works of art that we will always cherish.

Lindsey graduated from Lone Peak High School despite an extended hospitalization. She graduated as a Nail Technician and enjoyed working in the salon and with individuals. She later attended automotive classes at UVU. She also studied psychology and loved shows about the supernatural and haunting.

Lindsey was fiercely independent from an early age and wanted to earn her own way. She loved Mike Rowe and his belief in doing real work to be successful. Her personally autographed book from him was a prized possession.

She leaves behind: Parents – Kent and Jeanne Swenson, brothers – Shawn (Freda) Pettingill and Erik (Emily) Swenson and many extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Mountainville 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah.
