Teresa Lynne Wilkins Telles
1962 ~ 2016

Teresa Lynne Wilkins Telles was born May 3, 1962 in Provo, Utah to Lowell and Lloyda Wilkins. She passed away on February 11, 2016 in Ridgecrest, California. She was the second of eight children to bless the family. She grew up in Ridgecrest and graduated from Burroughs High School in 1980. She entered Brigham Young University the following fall and graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1984. She was an amazing student and completed her five-year program in four years despite taking a semester off in 1982 to receive treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was one of two women who graduated in electrical engineering that year. She worked for Litton Guidance & Control Systems for two years and then was hired by the Naval Weapons Center where she worked as an aircraft instrumentation engineer until the time of her death.

Teresa enjoyed all things outdoors, including camping, kayaking, diving, and hiking. She loved to travel with her fiancé and her family. She was an excellent pianist. She served multiple times as a pianist in the Primary and Relief Society organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Teresa is survived by her sons, Justin Telles and Nicholas (Ivy) Telles; her fiancé Jim Lander; her parents, Lowell and Lloyda Wilkins; grandsons Icarus and Sebastian Telles; siblings Anne Marie Woolstenhulme, Denise Mecham, Hugh Wilkins, Kevin Wilkins, Linda McGee, Rebecca Reynolds, and Aubrey Wursten.

Teresa will be remembered for her compassion and humor and will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Mountainville 2nd LDS Ward chapel, 165 North 100 East, Alpine, Utah,. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah on Tuesday, February 23, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Interment will be at Alpine City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
