Marveen Elliott Traylor
1936 ~ 2013

Marveen Elliott Traylor passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of Friday, May 3, 2013, at home due to unexpected heart failure.

She was born January 31, 1936 in Provo, Utah to Donald and Elva Elliott. She spent many years with her young family in Southern California and later moved to Northern Utah. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of graduating from college with a BS in Human Resources from Westminster College. She was married to Melvin Adams Mitchell and had two beautiful children. She later married Lester Traylor, and they have lived in South Jordan, UT.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints she served faithfully in many callings but talked fondly and shared many uplifting experiences of her service as a relief society president in Southern California. Marveen had a great love for genealogy. Health challenges in later years slowed her ability to pursue this passion. Her greatest enjoyment came from involvement in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She will miss them greatly but as the veil is thin she will surely watch them grow and progress from Heaven above. Throughout her life she showed unending kindness and compassion to all in need and particularly to her family and extended family.

She is preceded in death by both parents and brother Ronald Elliott. She is survived by husband, Lester Traylor, son Randy (Heidi) Mitchell, daughter Kelly (Craig) Esplin, brother Larry Elliott, sister Susanne Hall, 4 step children, 26 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the South Jordan Parkway Stake Center, 9894 S. 2700 W., South Jordan, UT. A viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment to follow funeral at South Jordan Memorial Park.
