Ellen Taylor Watkins
1928 ~ 2014
Ellen Watkins, 85, peacefully passed away on January 19,
2014 in Cedar Hills, Utah. She was born December 23, 1928
in Los Angeles, California to David Landrum Taylor and Goldie
Ellen (Goldman) Taylor. She married Alfred Myers Watkins
on June 23, 1950 in the LDS Mesa Arizona Temple.
Doreen graduated from Franklin High School (CA) in June
1947. She grew up in Highland Park in Los Angeles. She was
an active member of the LDS Garvanza Ward. She used her
talents of detail and organization at Bullocks, yardage,
and bookkeeping; she even designed and general contracted
her own home in Glendale, California. Her hobbies included
interior and fashion design, painting, and needlepoint.
She was a talented seamstress, and the kind of Mother that
would stay up all night to finish beautiful dresses for
her daughters. She had a kind heart and was nice to everyone
she met. She especially loved and cared for her grandchildren
and great grandchildren and had a personal testimony of
her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her three children; Cheryl (Mark) Lyon,
Janine (Lloyd) Duff, and Blaine (Corrie) Watkins. Alfred
and Doreen have 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a
brother, Earl Taylor.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014
at 1:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900
East, American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11:30
to 12:30 prior to services. Interment will be at the American
Fork City Cemetery.
