Janis Hoppie Williams
1942 ~ 2016

Janis Hoppie Williams, 74, of Alpine died September 18, 2016. She was born in Boise, Idaho, the youngest daughter of William Henry and Verla Jane Hoppie. She married Taylor T. Williams in 1961, and together they raised seven children.

After raising her family, Janis worked for Alpine City for 20 years until she retired in 2010 as the City Recorder. She loved Alpine and was a pillar of the community. But, more than anything, Janis loved the Lord and loved serving Him by serving others.

She is survived by her seven children, David, Loralyn, Dennis, Sherry, Karolyn, Jill and Billie Jo; 28 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her sister Joan Ogden and brother Bart Hoppie; and her former husband Taylor. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Fort Canyon LDS Ward Chapel, 890 North Heritage Hills Drive, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church and again on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Alpine City Cemetery.
