Clark E. Jensen
Clark Evon Jensen, age 87, loving husband and father, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was born October 15, 1933 in Aurora, Utah to Eldon and Verna Jensen. He was the oldest of three children and worked very hard with his father on their farm. He graduated from North Sevier High School.
Following high school, he served in the army from 1954-1956, and was miraculously spared from having to fight in the Korean War. He was stationed in New Foundland instead where he helped build roads and runways. He married Tonyia Bastian and had three wonderful children and was later divorced. He then married his sweetheart, Winifred Nielsen, on April 30, 1976 in Richfield, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Utah Temple on September 30, 1994. Together they have three children. Clark attended Salt Lake Trade Tech for four years and graduated in electronics and diesel mechanics. He worked as a diesel mechanic for 36 years, often working two jobs, and was well respected for his ability to rebuild diesel engines.
He loved being in the mountains: camping, boating, hunting and fishing. He had a little farm in Highland where he grew alfalfa and raised a few horses, cows, pigs, rabbits, dogs and cats. He utilized the farm to teach his children the value of hard work. He later gave each of his children an acre of land so they could enjoy living close to him.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout the years. He never wavered in his faith, even through some very challenging personal experiences.
He is survived by his wife, Winifred, and six children: Charlotte (Danny) Hutchinson, Colette (Michael) Shriver, Tony (Sherry) Jensen, Jaynann (Lafe) Harris, Nicole (Jeff) Atkinson, and Darwin (Allie) Jensen. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and his two sisters: Kay Smith and Nola Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Ryan Braithwaite and two grandchildren, Danica Jensen and Joshua Harris.
