Darlene Nave
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend on Sunday, January 10, 2021.
She (mom) spent her final days under the loving care of the staff at Highland Glenn Memory care facility where she was visited frequently by her family and friends. Darlene (mom) was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho May 26, 1934 to Adam & Emma Hill Hunter. She was the youngest of nine children who each preceded her in death. Darlene (mom) graduated from Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls in 1952.
Darlene (mom) attended Ricks College, which is now BYU Idaho and Idaho State University where she received her Medical Technology certification and met her future husband Robert (Bob) Nave. Bob always said it was love at first sight for him. For Darlene (mom) it took a bit longer. They were married June 28.1957 in the Idaho Falls Temple for time and all eternity.
Darlene (mom) worked in hospital laboratories in Idaho, Utah, New York and Hawaii. During their time in Hawaii, their first beautiful daughter Lori Jo was born. They moved onto California where their second sweet daughter, Nancy Ann was born. Later their third wonderful daughter Linda Lee was born. Bob then accepted a teaching assignment for the government in Battle Creek, Michigan where they stayed for 4 years before returning to Pleasant Hill, California. Upon returning to California, one of Darlene’s (mom’s) major accomplishments, besides her family, was facilitating the concept and establishing the first Urgent Care Clinics, which are now common across the country.
Upon retirement, Darlene and Bob served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Palmyra, New York. They later settled down to enjoy their retirement years in Alpine, Utah. Darlene (mom) served in many church callings but especially loved being with the children.
Darlene loved her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Whenever she saw a baby her eyes would light up. Our family and friends will all miss her very much and are grateful that we will one day be together again.
Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Robert Nave. Her daughter Lori and husband Ben Smith of Pleasant Hill California, Daughter Nancy and husband Layne Ashby of Mapleton Utah, Daughter Lynn and husband Johnny Torzillo of Bridger Valley Wyoming. 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
