Gary L. Chadwick
On Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, Gary Lee Chadwick, from American Fork, loving husband and father of five children passed away peacefully at the age of 73 at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah. Gary was born on June 13, 1947 in Ontario, Oregon to the late Gilbert Sager and Clara (Ash) Chadwick. He was married to Marilyn Bennett Chadwick the love of his life with whom he shared 53 years of marriage.
He was a brick mason and general contractor by profession where today you can see his work throughout the Intermountain West with his creative touch and eye for detail. He was licensed as a general contractor in Utah, Nevada, and California.
He loved to be outdoors whether it was participating in motocross in his youth, jeeping (aka MADCHAD), golfing, fishing, or camping with family and friends. He had a passion for BYU sports and spent his lifetime cheering for the Cougars.
He is survived by five children: Terry Chadwick (Hanh), Jillinda White (Gary), Tracy Chadwick, Nolan Chadwick (RoShan) and Tyler Chadwick (Deonne). He was the grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is survived by two sisters, Linda (Merrill) Slater and Carol (Jim) Frost; three stepsisters (Charlotte, Deleasa and Sybil) and one stepbrother George.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents (Gilbert Sager and Clara (Ash) Chadwick, and stepmom Dora Loretta Chadwick), two brothers, Earnest Chadwick (Shirlee), Glade Chadwick (Mary Lee) and sisters LaNora and Kaye and stepsisters Norma Jean and Beverly.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a helping hand to anyone in need.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 16th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harbor 1st Ward Chapel, 600 South 100 West, American Fork, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held the Monday, March 15th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and before the services on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
