Michael Blaine Mitchell passed away quietly on March 15, 2021, surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

Michael was born on September 18, 1962, in Murray, Utah to William (Bill) and Glenda (Todd) Mitchell. Two and a half years later their family was complete when his sister, Teresa Lee Mitchell was born.

In 1970, Michael lost his father, to a car accident. After his father’s death, Glenda, Michael, and Teresa created a lifetime bond that some would be envious. Michael loved his mother and sister and was their biggest protector.

Michael grew up in West Valley City, where he attended Granger High School, and played basketball, softball, baseball, and football.

Michael enjoyed many hobbies during his life. He was very passionate about sports, hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved tailgating and attending the University of Utah football games with his sister and his friends. During the summer he enjoyed attending Bees baseball games.  He was a huge fan of the Utah Jazz, Pittsburg Steelers and San Francisco Giants. He looked forward to hunting season and any time he could spend outdoors.

Michael had the biggest heart and loved his family. He did not have any children of his own, but he was blessed with four nephews, who loved him. Michael gained a new title of great-uncle when his great-niece, Aubrey was born, and in recent months when Lennon, Berlin, and Jordyn joined his family.

Michael’s love and outgoing personality won over the hearts of many. In his short time on this earth, he developed a large and strong foundation of those who loved him.

Michael was survived by his loving sister, Teresa Lee Mitchell, his nephews, Derek (Carrie) Parker, Brandon (Talisa) Parker, Mitchell (Alayna) Haase, Mckay (McKenna) Meidlinger. He also leaves behind his extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, many friends and “The Group.”

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and grandparents.

The family would like to thank Innovations Homecare and Hospice for the care they gave to Michael in his final days.

At Michael’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
