Brent “Bad Earl” McDaniel, 65, of Highland, Utah, passed away Thursday, June 3rd, 2021, from cardiac arrest.

He was born August 15, 1955, in Alpine, Utah, to Rulon Clark and Marilyn Cordner McDaniel. He was the middle of 3 boys. He grew up in the mountains of Alpine surrounded by good friends and family.

He graduated from American Fork High School in 1973 and began work as a glass installer. Within a few years, he had founded his own very profitable business, Interstate Glass and Aluminum and remained sole proprietor for the remainder of this life. He was well known for his skill as a Glazier throughout the construction industry in Utah.

Brent was extremely knowledgeable about Harley Davidson motorcycles, vintage cars and trucks, wood working and antique pocket watches and clocks. He could often be found in his garage creating with beautiful and exotic wood, tinkering on a motorcycle or tractor, or learning how to fix and antique clock.  He was creative and often had an idea in his head he was planning to bring to life, many of which he did.

In recent years he was able to travel to some of the places on his bucket list including Washington DC, Pearl Harbor, Alcatraz Island, Ground Zero- New York and had a trip planned to see Mount Rushmore.  He loved American History and was a true patriot.  In 2020, Brent’s dream came true when he saw Itzhak Perlman live in Arizona.  He loved traveling with his children and grandchildren.

Brent Worked hard his whole life.  Always finding a way through hard times.  He cared deeply for his parents and cared for them until their passing.  He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. He looked forward to his weekly phone calls with his grandson Atticus in Uganda, expected calls from his kids frequently and would do anything to make help them be happy.

If you knew Brent, you knew to come to the back door, friends came to the back door. You knew you could stop in for a cold soda and just talk, anytime.  He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He was a gentle giant and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, Jared Earl McDaniel and Tyson Brent McDaniel.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Adrienne (Chris) of Idaho Falls, Kami (Alexis) of Eagle Mountain and Whitney of Highland, and 2 sons, Michael of Alpine, and Thomas “Smed” of Highland, and four grandchildren, Elder Atticus Woods in Uganda, Africa, Sawyer, Cosette and Asher.
