An angel on earth, Joan Jackson Kelly, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2021, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer. She was a sweet wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and ministering friend.

Joan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 26, 1946 to Jesse and Florence Jackson. She grew up in Springville and Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Olympus High school where she loved theater and the pep squad.

She married Ronald Boyce Kelly on September 15, 1965 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They made their home in American Fork, Utah where they lived for 50 years. She loved her home that faced the mountains and the street where she raised her family.

Joan was blessed with seven children who she loved and supported throughout their lives. She adored her darling grandchildren and shared family traditions with them that they each cherish such as staying up late and playing games at the kitchen table and finding favorite cookies in the cabinet. The kitchen was a meeting place where they laughed and danced together.

Serving like the Savior was what Joan did the very best. She was often writing a note or dropping off dinner to someone in need. She loved serving and working in the Mount Timpanogos Temple where she made dear friendships. Joan joyfully volunteered at a humanitarian center where she helped make and ship homeless sleeping mats to refugees throughout the world.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her knowledge and faith brought her much peace and happiness.

She is survived by her husband, Ron, and children: Shaun Kelly (Rochelle), Angie Sneddon (Joe), Kimberly Lunt (Tim), Melissa McAllister (Dave), Ryan Kelly (Amber), Amanda Barlow (Curtis) and Lindsey Keith (Nate), 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, sister Bonnie Shaffer and brother Brent Jackson. She is proceeded in death by her parents Jesse and Florence Jackson, and her siblings Jesse Jackson, Jeanine Fritzsche, and Kent Jackson.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Utah Cancer Specialists for all of the tender care they gave to our mother. Thank you to the angel hospice nurses from Intermountain Healthcare. Special thanks to each of her sweet friends, neighbors, and extended family for their sensitive support and love for Grandma Joan.
