Terry Lynn Fawson
Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Terry Lynn Fawson, returned home to our Heavenly Father on October 26 after a long battle with cancer. He was 66.
Terry was born on December 29, 1954 in Salt Lake City to George Roland and Arlene Sally Walker Fawson. He grew up in Murray, Utah where he met his high school sweetheart, Vickie Burgon. They were married on March 30, 1972 and later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1974 for time and all eternity.
His favorite times were enjoying the outdoors with his family. Mirror and Payson lakes were among his favorite areas to enjoy camping, fishing, and canoeing. One of his strongest interests was building and shooting his various firearms. He loved to joke around. He was known for being the biggest jokester of the family. He had an infectious laugh that could trigger anyone to laugh with him, often it could be heard from a mile away. His continual efforts to joke and play around was one of his greatest gifts to his family and everyone who knew him.
He had a strong love of music and poetry, he knew a song for every occasion. He was an amazing example of hard work, perseverance and integrity. Throughout his career, he owned many different businesses in various trades and served everyone he knew. He was often found at his ward, serving those in need with his many skills. His service continued in his many church callings. His favorites were serving as financial clerk for his ward and in the bishopric for a BYU singles ward. Lynn had a deep love for our Heavenly Father and our Savior. His faith was strong and that will live on through his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Fawson and his six children, Jeni, Sara (Darrick), Kaye (Kris), Shanna (Ryan), Terry (Rachel), Missy (JC). Seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. His brother Brent (Debbie), his sister Pat, and several nieces and nephews.
We are so grateful for the short time we had with him, to hear his jokes, to laugh, and to enjoy his stories. He was a fierce protector of his family and will always be our favorite dad and cheerleader. We know he will be looking down on us to cheer us on and to keep watch over us. Thank you to iCare hospice for taking such great care of him; Maryann and the rest of the staff. We will be forever grateful for the love you showed him.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Northridge 4th Ward Chapel, located at 1780 North 165 East, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment will follow services in the Murray City Cemetery.
