Paul Graydon Holt
Paul Graydon Holt, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 28, 2021, in Lehi, Utah. He was 72 years old.
He was born on July 9, 1949, to Graydon Stoker Holt and Ethel Dora Bates Holt in Ogden, Utah. Paul grew up in Layton and enjoyed his time spent helping on the family farm and riding his horse, Rondo. He graduated from Davis High School and served in the Brazil, Sao Paulo mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Paul attended college at Utah State University where he met his beloved wife, LeAnn Parkinson and they were married and sealed for time and all eternity on April 28, 1972, in the Salt Lake Temple. They spent their early years in New York, where Paul attended the Gemological Institute of America and became a certified gemologist. He spent many years enjoying the beauty of gemstones and precious metals. They returned to Utah and made a home in the Alpine area, where they have lived for over 40 years.
Paul loved nature and enjoyed spending time in the mountains with his family. He loved long drives, picnics, camping and appreciating the beauty of God’s creations. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and incredible faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ. He always had a kind smile and witty comment for everyone he met. He was service minded, generous, and was loved by many.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, LeAnn Parkinson, sister Ann Stevenson, sister Ruth Barker (Paul), his five children: Kristen Stuart (Joseph), Catherine Willes (Jay), Stephanie Quarnberg (JimBob), Jennette McKnight (Kyle), Geoffrey Holt (Krysia), and his 17 grandchildren.
Paul will be laid to rest on Monday, January 3, 2022, in the Alpine City Cemetery, following a private graveside service. If you wish to offer condolences, the family will be available at the Mountainville 1st Ward building at 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, UT 84004, from 1:30pm – 2:30pm.
