Janet Louise Tetro Andreasen
Janet Louise Tetro Andreasen, age 83 – beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend passed away January 4, 2022 of natural causes. She is now reunited with her eternal companion, Erik, and her parents, in their heavenly home.
Born March 11, 1938 in Whittier, CA to Melvin La Verne Tetro and Dorothy May Killian Tetro. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA area and attended Fourth Street Elementary, Kern Avenue Junior High and James A Garfield High School. She graduated in January 1956. She worked for Pacific Financial, and Zellerbach Paper Co after high school. She and Erik, who she met as a small child and re-connected with as a teenager, married on November 22, 1957 in the Los Angeles Temple. They moved to Provo, Utah while Erik attended BYU and they welcomed Janeen in February 1959. In 1961 they moved to Fullerton, CA where 3 more children were welcomed – Scott, Karen and Erika. When the kids were old enough, she worked for aerospace industry Hughes Aircraft Company from the late 1970’s to her retirement in 1996. Fullerton would be her home for 56 years. She then moved to American Fork, UT in 2017 where she could view the beautiful mountains and be closer to family members.
Mom was a devout and faithful member of the church and served in many capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was Primary President, Young Womens President, Relief Society President, Organist/Chorister, Roadshow Director, Visiting Teacher Coordinator, Ward Music Chairman and Ward Choir Director. She loved each calling and served with her whole heart. Mom also was our personal family history guru, compiling pictures and stories of our ancestors. I’m sure many were on the other side to welcome her home.
She is survived by her children – Janeen (Larry-deceased) Steele, Scott (Deborah), Karen (Richard) Spampinato, Erika (Eric) Nelson, 11 grandchildren – Andrew, Jessica, Kiley, Mark, Brian, Kevin, Reed, Colton, Chad, Travis, Wyatt – and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brother Jim, and sister Kathleen and their families.
Funeral services will be held January 8th at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1320 West 3540 North, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062. A family graveside service will be held a week later at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA.
She will be remembered for her love of family, friendships, music, callings, outdoors, sports and her listening ear. Our biggest cheerleader. We love you mom. Till we meet again.
