Cheryl Lynne Allred
Cheryl Lynne Allred, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on March 7, 2022, in Provo, Utah. She was surrounded by her husband and children at the time she departed this earthly life. She was 74-years-old.
Cheryl was born in Brigham City, Utah on September 16, 1947, to Gayle and Opal Nicholas Tingey. She was the oldest of five children and loved her family dearly. It was important to her that her siblings stay connected. She hosted many gatherings over the years to strengthen these family ties and relationships. We’re so grateful for her energy and dedication in this.
After a chance meeting at the county fair, a story she often shared, Cheryl knew that Keith Allred was the man she wanted to travel through life with. They married for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 21, 1966 and began their adventures together.
Cheryl was a devoted wife and mother. She loved fiercely and we always felt safe knowing that she was on our side. Among countless other talents, our mother had the gift of truly living life, of wringing everything possible out of it she could, of doing a hundred things all at once, and making it all look easy. She loved to travel, a long drive with a Diet Coke, and time spent with family and friends. She was the heart of our family, the planner of our adventures, the orchestrator of our gatherings, and the steel that has kept us connected.
She was a lifelong learner and teacher. With four young children still at home, she went back to college and received her teaching certificate. After being in the classroom for twenty years, she became a high school administrator and loved the many friendships she developed during her career. She considered her coworkers some of her closest friends.
Cheryl had a deep faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ and created a home where the gospel was taught to her children. She shared her testimony and her love for the Savior through her willingness to serve others and to nurture a testimony in those whom she loved. In addition to numerous other callings, she served alongside her husband in the England London Mission, a time she deeply loved and appreciated.
Cheryl’s proudest achievement was that of her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Keith Allred, and her four children, Gretchen Buhrley (Brook), Amy Mayhew (Lon), Aaron Allred (Meghan), and Jessica Haas (Dave). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Caitlyn Dahl (Chandler), Zachary Buhrley (Matisse), Brynn Buhrley, Gaven Sepulveda (Erin), Criket Sepulveda (Quincy), Gage Sepulveda, Bailey Mayhew, Andalyn Allred, Sloane Allred, Monroe Allred, Abby Haas, Molly Haas, Sam Haas, and Quinn Haas.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Cedar Hills 7th Ward Chapel, 9737 Chesterfield Drive, Cedar Hills, Utah. Family and friends may call on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah, and again on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church prior to services.
