Debra J Bentley
Debra J Bentley, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Lubbock, Texas on March 13, 2022 at the age of 69 after being hospitalized for a week with pneumonia and the flu. She is now reunited in Heaven with her eternal companion, Dale Richard Bentley, who passed away 8 years earlier on January 27, 2014. Dale and Debra were sealed for eternity in the Los Angeles temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on November 6, 1971.
Debra leaves behind a legacy of what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ and doing good in the world each day. Whether it was her creative drawings and artwork, her inspiring children’s stories she authored and illustrated, her impeccably researched family history work, or her witty sense of humor and contagiously positive outlook on life, Debra truly inspired those around her to be the best version of themself and to follow the Savior.
Plain and simple, the world is a better place because it was blessed to have Debra in it and there is no doubt Heaven just regained one of its strongest angels when she stepped across the other side of the veil to hold Dale’s hand for eternity.
Debra leaves behind two sons: A.J., and Eric; two daughters in law: Genevieve and Mandy; three grandchildren: Myles, Avery, and Camden; and three siblings: Sue, Bob, and Rick. Debra’s parents, whose death preceded Debra’s, are John J. Walz and LuJean Johnson Walz Bench.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service for Debra on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Hillside Ward chapel located at 676 North Eagle View Dr., Alpine, Utah, which will be followed by a graveside service at the Alpine Cemetery.
