Forrest L Anderson, Jr. was born August 3, 1928, in Loco, OK of the late Forrest L. and Georgia A. Anderson. He left this earthly life and returned home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the age of 93.
He grew up in Oklahoma and Douglas, AZ. A Korean War Veteran, he joined the US Navy after high school in 1948. He served on the destroyer, USS DeHaven, and was stationed in Occupied Japan and participated in the Korean War.
After he was honorably discharged, he worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company in El Paso, Texas as an electrician and worked up the ranks to be an Electrical Superintendent over the Company’s Southern-Division. He worked for 34 years before retiring in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife Jeannine of 66 years, son, Kent and two great grandsons, Taylor Spencer and Everett King. Surviving are children, Jim (Charlyn) of Alpine, Utah, Gary (Joyce) of San Antonio, Texas, Don (Janet) of Alpine, Utah, Ron (Cindie) of Page, AZ, daughter-in-law Glenda Anderson of San Antonio, Texas and sister-in-law Ivey Sue Anderson. He was also preceded in death by Sisters, Christine Hassel and Jeanne Baker and Brother, Jack Anderson. He has 20 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
He was a convert and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served and lived a life of love toward his family and friends. His loving and friendly nature will be deeply missed by many, first and foremost his family.
Funeral services for Forrest will be at the Alpine 9th Ward Chapel located at 901 Village Way, Alpine, Utah 84004 on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church. Burial services will take place in the Alpine City Cemetery, Alpine, Utah following the funeral service.
