Mary Ann Lambson Gillins

1935 – 2022

Mary Ann Lambson Gillins, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, peacefully passed from this life on July 4, 2022.  Mary Ann was born in Antimony, Utah on August 30, 1935 to Gus & Lillie Langford Lambson.  At age 17, she moved with her parents to Minersville, Utah.  While in Minersville, she met her eternal companion Harrell Mathews Gillins.  They were married in the St. George LDS Temple on September 9, 1955.

Mary Ann’s joy in life was her family.  After Harrell unexpectedly passed away in 1971, she became a widow at age 35.  She showed much strength and courage as she raised her five young children in the gospel, while living in Kearns, Utah.

Mary Ann was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers which she greatly enjoyed.  She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City.  She loved serving in various callings in her ward, especially those in primary and relief society. She also enjoyed traveling, family reunions, working on crafts, spending time with her friends, and writing short stories and poems.

She is survived by her children: Richard Gillins, Rod Gillins (Ilene), Laurie Hart, Linda Pugh (Mike), Carolyn Baker (Doug), and a sister Kathryn Brinkerhoff, along with 15 grandchildren and 21 Great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a grandson Cody Pugh, a great granddaughter Lily Baker, her brother Fount Lambson and a sister Betty Marshall.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 5154 West 7000 South in West Jordan, Utah.  A viewing will be held from 9:00-9:45 am prior to the service at the same location. At the conclusion of the service, anyone who wishes is welcome to join the family as they travel to the Minersville, Utah Cemetery for a graveside service at 3:00 pm.  She will be buried in Minersville beside her husband and next to her parents.

The family would like to thank Sunridge Assisted Living for the love and kindness they showed to our mother, and especially her hospice nurse, Kaisley.
