Mary Wilcox Brandley Alexander passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on September 21, 2022 at the age of 103. Mary was on born September 8, 1919 in Lethbridge Alberta Canada to Albert Brandley and Luella Wilcox
She grew up in Stirling, Alberta, a small village which was founded by her grandfather in 1898. She moved to Utah to attend college. She studied for two years at Utah State in home economics and finished her last year at the University of Utah where she graduated with a degree in food and nutrition/ dietetics.
On December 17, 1941, she married Guy B. Alexander in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They were life-long sweethearts. Together they had two children Karen (1947) and Guy Michael (1950).
Mary was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served valiantly in many callings including YWMIA president, Relief Society President, Primary President, District Primary President and faithful ministering sister. She loved to study the gospel and continued to learn her entire life.
Mary leaves behind a large posterity including her daughter, Karen (Paul) Bennett; daughter-in-law, Vicki Alexander. Grandchildren: Monica (Chris) Patch, four children; Natalie (Stephen) Thompson, four children; Bradley (Angela) Bennett three children; Nicole (Jordan) Davis, four children; Megan (Dave) Blodgett, two children; Brian (Kristi) Alexander, four children; Kimberly (Chad) Riches, five children; Kevin (Kim) Alexander, four children; Kristin (Bridger) Taylor, four children; Sean (Brooke) Alexander, two children; and 5 1/2 great great grandchildren. She is survived by her younger sister Mona Peterson and preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Luella, her siblings Reinard Brandley and Patricia Kirchhoefer, her loving husband Guy B, her son Michael and two great grandsons, Cade Bennett and Jackson Davis.
Mary lived a long, active and fulfilling life to the very end. She loved dancing, writing her family histories, playing card games and spending time with friends and family. Mary was known for her positive attitude, hard work, and dedication in all aspects of her life. She served everywhere she went. Mary knew how to be a good friend. She was a great listener. She loved to have a party. She will be missed greatly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the Fortuna Ward Building, 4407 South Fortuna Way, Salt Lake City, Utah.
