Wendy Susan Longson was born on March 18th, 1967, in Provo, Utah to Ruth and Jay Naylor. She was the fourth of five children. Wendy and her family resided in Provo, Utah for most of her young life. She attended Timpview High School and graduated in 1985. Wendy played the piano and the trumpet in the school band for a of couple of years.  She loved to hang out with friends, especially at the pool.  She loved funny movies, Dr Demento, and ‘80’s music.  She was always full of energy and laughter.

Following her graduation, she attended Utah Technical College (now Utah Valley University) in Orem, Utah.  During her time at Utah Tech, Wendy and Lionel met and became good friends. They remained good friends for several years before they started dating. Once they started dating, things progressed quickly, and they were soon married in the Salt Lake City temple in August of 1989. They remained married for 33 years.

Wendy gave birth to her first daughter, Mickey, in 1993, and her second daughter Lexi, was born in 1996. Shortly after Lexi’s birth, at the age of 30, Wendy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and Scoliosis and fought a 25-year battle. One year later, Wendy and Lionel’s third daughter, Andie, was born. Wendy was gifted with incredible empathy and compassion for others. She was a terrific friend, sister, and mother. Her humor and personality were magnetic, and she always uplifted those she encountered. Wendy and her family enjoyed vacationing together, camping, boating, and frequent trips to St George.

Wendy was an avid lover of all things sun and water. Growing up, her family would travel frequently to Lake Powell, and it quickly became one of her favorite places on earth. She loved listening to music, watching her favorite shows, staying up late, drinking Diet Coke, and spending time with her three girls and her grandchildren

Wendy is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ann Romney Naylor.

Wendy was a beacon of strength, hope, and love to all who knew her. Her friends and family are rejoicing that she is in heaven with her mother and free from pain.

The family wishes to thank the many many friends, family, and neighbors who devoted countless hours in serving and loving her.  In addition we’d also like to thank Intermountain Hospice and December Rose for the incredible care they provided, especially Jessica, Alan, and Kylee.
