Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, Kay Marie Terry Pace, 83 of American Fork, Utah, passed away June 18, 2023. Kay was born September 16, 1939 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Eugene (Fin) and LaVere Mehew Terry. She spent her early years in Raymond, Alberta and was proud of her Canadian roots.
Kay went to school in Raymond and Calgary, attending Viscount Bennett School before the family moved to Orem, Utah in 1951. She then attended Geneva Elementary, Lincoln Junior High School and graduated from Orem High School in 1958.
She met Dan Pace after moving to Orem where they became fast friends and eventually married on March 24, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was a natural born athlete, excelling in several sports and serving as the president of the Girls Athletic Association. She was a wizard at cards, according to Hoyle. She loved her daily crossword puzzles, watching Little League World Series, traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles, laughing and spending time with her family.
She was a soft landing for all of us. Her heart was always open, kind and forgiving. She was always willing to listen and to help and supported her family always. She was quick-witted, never missed anything and was incredibly smart. This woman was so much more to so many. Dream a little dream, Kay.
She is survived by her husband; Dan, children; Teri Sue (Bryan) Johnson, Mike (Lori) Pace, David (Meg) Pace also 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and her siblings; Shirley (Duane) Fraser, Larry (Pat) Terry, and Judy Malone.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Fin & LaVere, grandson; Derek Hilliker and brother-in-law Patrick Malone.
Funeral services for Kay will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Barratt Chapel, located at 270 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Warenski Funeral Home, located at 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah, and also at an additional viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services at the church.
