Michael Lee Davies

1945 – 2023

 

Michael Lee Davies, 77, of Orem Utah, passed away on July 20 of natural causes.

Michael was born on September 28, 1945 to Patricia and Marion in Las Vegas, Nevada. After Michael graduated from El Monte High School of New Hall California in 1963, Michael went on to study US history at Brigham Young University after playing college football for Colorado State as their freshman captain. Michael served a mission for the LDS church in Texas/Mexico.

After college, he started his first job at Hostess Cake. Later, in 1974 then kickstarting a business in precious metals and becoming an influential expert within the commodities field. Michael and Lynn also owned and operated Lynn’s Wooden Horse/Ye Old Nutcracker Shop in Provo that designed Nimmerbacht© Nutcrackers.

In 1969, Michael met Lynn Nimmer at BYU, Michael and Lynn went on to have 4 children, Jodi (Russell), Jonathan, Jeremy and Joshua.

In 2023, Michael retired and spent his time collecting experiences and writing. 

Michael was predeceased by both of his parents, sister Susan and his wife Darlene. Michael is survived by his siblings Lori, Nancy, Trudy and Tim.

Services will be held privately with the VIPs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers that BYU has an amazing season for their first year in the BIG 12, an organization that Michael felt strongly about for over 50 years.

It is interesting to know that it was his granddaughter Savannah’s seventh birthday and our Dad is the kind of guy that would have thought that had significant meaning.
