Mary Bernice Powell Bingham was born on March 2, 1928, and died October 18, 2023, at 95 years of age. She was the daughter of Wilbur Morgan Powell and Bertha Lucile Gibbons, sister to Leo, Roy, Dale, Rhea and Gene, wife of VerNon Arch Bingham, mother to Brent VerNon (Charlotte Adams), Brenda (Robert Anderson), Randall Powell (Judy West), Debra (Kent Hamilton), and Linda (Lee Coy), grandmother of 28, great grandmother of 65, and great great-grandmother of five.

Bernice was a loving aunt, friend, and surrogate mother to many. Her life was one of devotion to God, family, and community, hallmarked by loving service, especially in using her talents of sewing, music, and cooking. She was a devoted wife and mother and special friend, a woman without guile, wholesome and sweet, who sincerely loved others. She organized exchange programs to Mexico for hundreds of Spanish students as well as other tours for friends and family and devotedly assisted her husband as mission companion in Honduras, the MTC in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Assistant Matron of the Lima Peru Temple, and first Matron of the Cochabamba Bolivia Temple. Although she will be dearly missed by all left behind, she is received with joy by her beloved husband, VerNon; daughter, Brenda; son, Randall; and grandson David, as well as others who have gone on before.

Funeral services for Bernice will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Lakeview Stake Center Chapel, located at 450 West 1800 South, Orem, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services also at the Lakeview Stake Center. Burial will follow services at 2:00 pm in the Coalville Cemetery in Coalville, Utah
